ISO has accepted and internationally used standards regarding the shaft power ratings of pumps and the minimum required motor sizes. Apart from these standards, the most common method used when selecting engine power is; It selects a motor that can provide the required power requirement until the end of the pump's shaft power curve. For example, if the power requirement of the pump at the selection point is 16 kW and the value at the last point of the power curve is 21 kW, a 22 kW electric motor can be selected. In such an application, there is no need to use a 30 kW motor.<\/p>\n<p>Since shaft power is related to the density and viscosity values of the pumped fluid, the motor selection of the pumps, especially those that will operate in hot applications, must be made by taking into account the shaft power in the start-up situations when the fluid to be pumped is cold.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Although malfunctions in pumps are a direct cost element for many facilities, any malfunction that may cause a stoppage in production, in line with the duty of the pumps in the facility, causes a secondary and much larger financial loss.
